This opportunity is part-time to provide skills and expertise to this small local voluntary organisation based in Salisbury. The vacancy is fixed-term in the first instance for 6 months. The role involves working closely with parents with young children in group settings in communities in south Wiltshire. This is a new Home-Start project aimed at offering support to Army families settling back into this part of the UK, in group sessions with a focus on parenting, family life, supporting children’s early learning, health, etc. You will be working closely with a Family Group Leader, volunteers and play workers.
You will need to have good communication skills and be able to work as part of a small team and in partnership with colleagues in other agencies, including our partner Home-Start scheme for this programme. You will need experience of working with families with children under 5, a good knowledge or understanding of family life in the military, a background in family support, and excellent local knowledge.

Salary: SNC Scale 12-20 (as at April 2018) £8.90 to £10.27/ hour depending on experience
